The piece was delivered to the royal palace personally by Pandora senior vice president of global product, Stephen Fairchild.

Pandora took inspiration from Denmark’s bicycle culture, as well as the royal’s love of travelling, for the design.

Queen Margrethe’s love for daisies and H.C. Andersen’s fairy tales also influenced the brand in designing the piece, which is is made of recycled silver and gold as well as 42 man-made diamonds.

“When creating this gift for her majesty we wanted to make something personal, playful
and a little out of the ordinary,” said Pandora’s Stephen Fairchild.

“The motif of the bicycle on daisy flower wheels is made as a tribute to her majesty’s creative, curious and joyful spirit that makes her the beloved Queen she is.

“Her majesty is very fond of H.C. Andersen, so on the back of the brooch is his famous quote ‘Life is the most wonderful fairy tale of all’.”
